Looking to share journey
I am a 47-year old single dad and embarked in a new beginning. Since my separation (divorce is in final stages) I have done some deep soul-searching (I know that sounds like a cliche) and feel that I have become a stronger and more interesting person. So, now I'm looking for someone to share myself with.
I moved to the US over 20 years ago from Germany to get my PhD. I'm now teaching at a well-known university in SoCal and enjoy the freedom that my job provides me with. I have two boys (15 and almost 13) who I am very proud of and love deeply.
I have always strived to follow diverse interests and be open to new ideas and experiences. Music plays an important part in my life. My favorite artists are Peter Gabriel, Sting, U2, and Roger Waters (in no particular order). I also try to make some sounds on guitars, drum-set and synthesizers. I love a good movie, one of the best I've seen lately is "What the bleep do we know?" Watching this movie led me to read (once again) several books on the interplay between science and spirituality, a topic that has always interested me. Ken Wilber is one of my favorite authors in this field.
If I sound brainy, well that's part of me. But I am really a pretty down to earth person with a good heart and somebody who treasures honesty, openness and the unbearable lightness of being (another one of my favorite movies). It's hard to say who or what I'm looking for, as I have no particular "type" or preconceived ideas about a relationship. I guess I would like to give without being taken advantage of, and I'd like to take without feeling guilty. Both as much as we can bear.
